Goal

The goal of the 2026 Called by Name campaign is to identify faithful teens and young men who may be open to the priesthood. Archbishop Golka will follow up by sending honorees a letter of congratulations. In the months ahead, our Vocation Team will invite them to events, offer personal support, and encourage them as they discern their vocations.

Three Main Things

• PRIESTS are asked to preach on the beauty and graces of the priesthood at Mass
• PARISHES are asked to put Called by Name cards in pews
• PARISHIONERS are invited to submit the names of faithful young men they would like to honor

Timeline

• April 9: Parishes receive Called by Name packages
  Includes pew cards, sample homily, prayers of the faithful, bulletin blurbs, etc.
• April 18-19: Announcement Weekend
  Include Archbishop Golka’s letter in bulletins and read pulpit announcement
• April 25-26: Called by Name Sunday
  Priests preach on vocations, parishes put cards in pews, parishioners are invited to submit names
• May-July: Follow Up by Vocation Team
  Nominees receive a letter from Archbishop Golka, personal follow up by Vocation Team Members, and are invited to regional discernment groups and other events.

Mailing Pew Cards

Please return the filled out pew cards received in the collection baskets by mail. It would be greatly appreciated if parish staff could look over the pew cards and fill in any missing information that the parish has on file before mailing the cards. This will help ensure that we can provide the nominees with vocation resources. A return envelope was included in the package with the pew cards, but if it has been misplaced, please mail cards to:
